Beneficiaries in the National Capital Region (NCR) will share their experiences and the impacts of the “Gulayan sa Pamayanan” project in their lives.
These testimonies will be aired live through a Virtual Presser on August 25, 2021,10:00 - 11:30 AM via the Facebook page of the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD).
This virtual presser is themed, “GULAYAN SA PAMAYANAN - Urban Gardening: Sharing of Experiences and Impacts from the Beneficiaries.”
The Gulayan sa Pamayanan is part of the GALING-PCAARRD Kontra COVID-19 Program - Pagkain at Kabuhayan sa Pamayanan. It is implemented by DOST-National Capital Region (NCR) and funded and monitored by DOST- PCAARRD.
Beneficiaries from Barangay 412, Legarda, Manila; Paradise Garden, Brgy. Sucat, Muntinlupa; Brgy. Balangkas, Valenzuela City; and Pasolo Elementary School, Valenzuela, Metro Manila are among the selected communities to share their experiences. Women leadership in the community, the strategy used in integrating urban gardening in the pantawid pamilyang pilipino program (4Ps), the local government unit’s (LGU) role and inspiring other LGUs to adopt urban agriculture, and the contribution of the person with disability (PWD) in urban gardening will be highlighted in this presser.
Interview with the director of DOST-NCR, Jose B. Patalinjug III, will also be featured regarding the details of their project implementation as well as the challenges that they are facing.
This virtual presser is open and free for all. DOST-PCAARRD and DOST-NCR are inviting everyone to watch the live video stream and participate during the question and answer portion via Facebook live comments.
