Cavite State University (CvSU) and Casa-Bella Farm recently signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) for a project that will demonstrate the integrated diversified farming system (IDFS).
The project, “Establishment of Off-Campus Integrated Diversified Farming System (IDFS) Demonstration, Production, and Experimental Areas,” being implemented by CvSU is funded by the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD).
The project utilizes IDFS and incorporates CvSU’s generated technologies in the production of coffee, dragon fruit, lakatan banana, stingless beekeeping, aquaponics, and other relevant S&T-based interventions.
One of the major activities of the project is to convert Casa-Bella Farm situated in Tagaytay City into an off-campus IDFS demonstration, production, and experimental area of CvSU.
Present at the event held on February 10, 2022 at CvSU, Indang Cavite were Casa-Bella Farm President Billie Sue Go Lim and Manager Antonio S. Adriano, CvSU President Hernando D. Robles, and DOST Secretary Fortunato de la Peña.
Dr. Robles acknowledged DOST-PCAARRD in supporting CvSU in their endeavors to invigorate the AANR sector in their province. Furthermore, Dr. Robles emphasized strengthened partnerships and new networks to accelerate community development.
DOST Secretary Fortunato de la Peña stated that state universities and colleges have been allies of DOST in pursuing R&D and technology transfer for the benefit of the community and recognized CvSU’s efforts in providing advanced instruction and professional training in agriculture as well as in undertaking research and extension services.
