DOST-PCAARRD chief receives award for advancing S&T, innovation in PH

Dr. Reynaldo V. Ebora, Executive Director of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD), received the 2022 Joon S. Moon Distinguished International Alumni Award from Michigan State University (MSU) via a virtual awarding ceremony on March 23, 2022.

The Award recognizes international students who graduated from MSU for their outstanding leadership and contributions in or to the international field or international communities, organizations, companies, agencies, individuals, and/or governments.

Dr. Ebora, a Ph.D. in Entomology graduate from MSU in 1995 under a Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship and who specialized in plant biotechnology and genetic engineering for insect resistance, is among the exceptional alumni recognized for having contributed positive, lasting change across the world, creating new paths to global engagement in truly extraordinary times.

Dr. Ebora's exemplary contributions to S&T development has likewise been recognized through the following awards: Pagasa Award given by the Philippine Civil Service Commission in 2021; Honorary Fellow Award given by the Crop Science Society of the Philippines in 2017; Distinguished Alumni Award in Science and Technology given by the University of the Philippines Alumni Association in 2016; William D. Dar Research Leadership Award given by the Philippine Association of Research Managers in 2016; Outstanding Science Administrator Award given by the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) and DOST in 2014; and Outstanding Technology Commercialization Award given by NAST and DOST in 2013.
