DOST-PCAARRD, PSAU collaborate in this year’s Agri-Aqua Innovation Pitch Fest

The Agri-Aqua Innovation Pitch Fest (AIPF) is back! This year, the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD) will collaborate with the Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU), one of the Council’s partners in various research and development (R&D) and technology transfer programs and projects. 

The upcoming AIPF 2024 will be held on August 16, 2024 at the Royce Hotel, Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga.

Themed “Transforming Ideas into Business Realities with Science and Technology,” AIPF 2024 will highlight the technological advancements and solutions pioneered by innovators in the agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources (AANR) sector. It will also serve as a platform to foster partnerships and collaborations among technology providers, investors, and other stakeholders toward the growth and scalability of emerging technology ventures.

The endeavor is part of DOST-PCAARRD’s Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) Program involving 94 state universities and colleges (SUCs) and research and development institutes (RDIs) across 15 regions in the country.

The first AIPF was held on December 6, 2022 in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. In collaboration with the Association of PAQE Professionals (APP) and the Licensing Executives Society Philippines (LES Philippines), AIPF 2022 showcased 26 of the best technologies with commercial potential in the agri-aqua sector.

Winners of the best pitch competition during AIPF 2022 were the following:

  1. Best Pitch: Mechanical Coconut Climber by Prof. Ryan M. Abenoja of the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP);
  2. First Runner Up: Furikake with Black Garlic by Ms. Lei Frances E. Ribac of the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU); and
  3. Second Runner Up: PAKASER (Mechanical Fish Splitter) by Dr. Cesar D. Almonicar, Jr. of the Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (DEBESMSCAT).
