The DOST-PCAARRD Graduate Alumni Association Inc. (DPGAA) will hold its 2019 Biennial Convention with the theme, “Innovative Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources (AANR) Solutions Amidst Fourth Industrial Revolution” at Central Luzon State University (CLSU), Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija on October 22-23.
The Biennial Convention is a regular gathering of former PCAARRD and DOST scholars, where the graduate alumni network among themselves and showcase their research outputs, ideas, and interests in the fields of agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources (AANR).
This year’s theme will focus on the Fourth Industrial Revolution, also known as 4IR or Industry 4.0. Defined as a period driven by unprecedented development of digital, biological, and physical technologies with great converging applications, Industry 4.0 is set to transform social, economic, and environmental development on a global scale. It is expected that the situation, as well as the adaptation and development of AANR sectors in the midst of Industry 4.0 will be discussed in the convention.
This two-day event will include keynote and plenary sessions from notable speakers here and abroad, as well as parallel sessions and poster presentations where the scholar-graduates will have the opportunity to present their significant researches. The Association will also hold its Business Meeting on the second day, where the members will elect their new set of officers for the next two years.
DPGAA is also calling for Nominations for its Outstanding Alumni Awards. These awards are given to graduate scholars of DOST and PCAARRD who made significant contributions to the advancement of agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources. An individual may be nominated under three categories: Research and Development, Technology Dissemination and Utilization, and Administration. The awardees will be announced during the Biennial Convention, and will receive a Plaque of Recognition and cash award.
