Her Excellency President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo conferred the Philippine Quality Award (PQA) to PCARRD in ceremonies held at the Malacañan Palace on December 9, 2009. PCARRD Executive Director Patricio S. Faylon received the award in behalf of the Council. The PCARRD Directorate and PQA team joined Faylon during the event.
The PQA is the highest level of national recognition for exemplary organizational performance. It aims to stimulate local companies and organizations to improve quality and productivity for the pride of recognition while obtaining a competitive edge and providing example to others.
Aside from the PQA, PCARRD was also one of the 43 government agencies that was acknowledged for successfully implementing a quality management system in compliance with the ISO 9001 standards.
