The said event adopts the theme, Diwang Makabago at Tradisyunal na Teknolohiya sa Agrikultura at Pangisdaan, Handog sa mga Pilipinong Magsasaka

As the rice granary of the Philippines, the province of Nueva Ecija considers rice as its most celebrated commodity, thus the importance of the event for the province and its rice farmers.

The Rice FIESTA is an amalgamation of culture, traditions, and technology highlighting pre and postharvest machineries, biofertilizer, integrated rice and rice-based package of technology, and other technologies developed through the support of the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD).

Among the pre and postharvest machineries featured in the event are the impeller-type compact ricemill, riding-type transplanter, combined conduction and far-infrared radiation dryer, and hand tractor attachments.

The technologies are expected to realize the goal of producing a healthy rice from pigmented rice, brown rice, heirloom rice, to golden rice.
