PCAARRD Executive Director Patricio S. Faylon (extreme left) visited the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI) at Serdang Selangor, Malaysia recently to benchmark its integrated agricultural production. Joining Faylon were officials from the Philippine Chamber of Agriculture and Food, Inc. and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources. MARDI has been mandated to conduct research in agriculture, food, and agro-based industries. For almost 40 years, its research efforts have generated many new crop varieties and clones, animal breeds, and management practices.
