Reynaldo E. Andres of the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) was cited in recognition of his proficiency in writing S&T articles and of his mastery of many subject matters.

His citation reads: “His fluid and easy-to-understand style of writing has far-reaching effects not just in terms of coverage, but more so in increasing public awareness on the varied technologies generated by the MMSU as well as by the member-agencies of the Ilocos Agriculture and Resources Research and Development Consortium.”

Andres’ latest winning is his second PPMA having won second place in the same category in 2001.

The other first place winner was Rowena Galang-Bumanlag of the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) in Muñoz, Nueva Ecija.

Bumanlag was recognized for being a prolific writer, her mastery of technologies, and ability to rise to the challenge of exhausting the creative possibilities of presenting a single commodity in articles that are easy-to-read yet rouse the readers’ interest.

Through the PPMA, PCAARRD salutes the hardworking print and broadcast media practitioners who fill important roles and render invaluable support in S&T promotion, commercialization, and adoption.

The award specifically seeks to recognize the accomplishments of media practitioners  in their vital role of popularizing technologies and disseminating these and appropriate agriculture, aquatic and natural resources information to the PCAARRD publics, most especially those in the countryside.
