"There are numerous technologies and products that have been generated from our various R&D efforts, and the need to diffuse them is paramount" said Dr. Reynaldo V. Ebora, Acting Executive Director of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD), during his keynote speech at the Western Visayas Agriculture Aquatic and Resources Research and Development Consortium (WESVAARRDEC) Farms and Industry Encounters through the Science amd Technology Agenda (FIESTA) at Capiz State University (CapSU), Roxas City, Capiz.
Held on April 8-10, 2019, the WESVAARRDEC FIESTA showcases R&D gains in mussel, bamboo, mango, muscovado sugar, and Darag native chicken. Dr. Ebora stated that these commodities have great potentials in improving the lives of farmers in Western Visayas.

He also mentioned various DOST-PCAARRD efforts on the featured commodities that are worth promoting in the region.
Encouraging a strengthened partnership and collaboration, Dr. Ebora expressed DOST-PCAARRD's support commitment to WESVAARRDEC.
"We are going to support the consortium in all its activities and I hope the other member agencies would do so as well" he said.
