The Philippine Extension Network (PEN), Inc. will hold the 2nd national symposium on Agriculture, Fisheries, Forestry and Natural Resources (AFFNR) Extension on February 8-9 at the Heritage Hotel Manila.
The 2-day affair themed “Extension and Entrepreneurship: Strengthening the Platforms for Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery Development” aims, among others, to provide extension professionals an avenue to discuss the changing agricultural context and its effect on extension and entrepreneurship particularly in technology commercialization.
PEN is a national organization of extension professionals and practitioners from academe, government agencies, non-government organizations and local government units. It commits to the advancement of theory and practice of extension to best contribute to agriculture development.
In its effort to provide a venue for interactive discussion on experiences and lessons learned in the provision of extension services, PEN calls for paper presentations to be presented during the symposium and will award deserving members the following citations: Outstanding Extensionist Award, Outstanding Extension Project Award, Outstanding Research Paper on Extension Award, and Outstanding Local Chief Executive Award (Governor or Mayor).
PCARRD advocates for relevant national extension system by sharing Techno Gabay Program’s success stories in the areas of local governance and improving farmers’ quality of life. In this light, key persons from regional Farmers’ Information and Technology Services (FITS) centers shall participate, along with PEN members and others interested in the said event.
