The Philippine Association of Research Managers, Inc. (PHILARM) will hold its 20th National Convention on April 6-9, 2010 at the Aklan State University, Banga, Aklan with the theme "PHILARM @ 20: Advancing research management for S&T (science and technology) productivity and sustainable development”.
The highlights of the convention include: R&D (research and development) management paper/poster presentations, Best WC Medrano R&D management paper selection, presentation of the WD Dar Research Leadership Award, presentation of the Outstanding Research Manager Award to a deserving PHILARM member, and general membership meeting.
Incidentally, entries to poster and paper selection should be submitted to the PHILARM Secretariat on or before February 28 for screening and approval for presentation during the convention. Official communication will be sent to author(s) of the papers and posters which have been approved for presentation and competition.
On the other hand, for the Search for the Outstanding Research Manager Awardee, the letter of nomination, completed nomination form, and the pertinent supporting documents should be submitted to the PHILARM Secretariat on or before February 28.
The convention is open to all PHILARM members and non-members. The convention fee is P 3,500.00 inclusive of convention materials, field tour, and other related expenses. Airfare/transportation and lodging expenses are not included in the convention fee.
PHILARM, founded on September 9, 1989, is a private, non-stock, non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and enhancement of the role of research managers in improving and sustaining productivity in research.
To date, the Association is composed of over 1,200 members from various government agencies, local government units, higher education institutions, private agencies, non-government organizations, and international institutions (from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, and Nepal).
