Professional chefs whip up delectable food using ZamPen native chicken

PHOTO RELEASE

(Left photo, from left to right) Chefs from Garden Orchid Hotel, Bar Code Restaurant, Marcian Group, and LM Metro Hotel joined this year’s “Cucina a la ZamPen Native Chicken” cooking contest in Zamboanga City. The contest was in connection with the conduct of the ZamPen Native Chicken Farms and Industry Encounters through the Science and Technology Agenda (FIESTA).

Unlike the first time it was conducted in 2016, wherein the cooking contest was participated in by students, this year’s event has innovated by involving hotels and restaurants to ensure wider utilization of ZamPen native chicken in various dishes for commercial purposes. The entries consist of (right photo, clockwise) Chicken Piaparan by Bar Code Restaurant, Joni-Joni Native Chicken Stew by LM Metro Hotel, Native Organic Chicken with Sibut Misua Soup by Garden Orchid Hotel, and Pollo Nativo Guisado con Salsa by Marcian Group. The ZamPen Native Chicken FIESTA was held from July 10-11, 2018 at the Western Mindanao State University (WMSU). FIESTA is an initiative of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD).
