Streaming the convergence of rice science and culture through the youth. Students in different schools in Central Luzon are in high spirits as they join in simultaneous activities, such as on-the-spot poster making contest, rice food art, and the palarong palay which featured the game jack en poy or rock-paper-scissors and bunong braso or arm wrestling, among other indigenous games. The activities were meant to inspire the youth on the importance of rice production by showcasing the convergence of rice science, technology, and culture.
This was during the Farms and Industry Encounters through the Science and Technology Agenda (FIESTA) on Rice held at the gymnasium of PhilRice, Muñoz, Nueva Ecija. The FIESTA was organized and conducted by the Central Luzon Agriculture, Aquatic and Resources Research and Development Consortium (CLAARRDEC)
