Two new projects on the DNA barcoding of marine fishes from the University of the Philippines Mindanao (UPMin) have undergone an inception meeting recently. 

The meeting aimed to present the plan of activities, targets and strategies in the implementation of the projects.

These projects are funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD).

Ang “Genetically Improved Farmed Tilapia” o GIFT ay isa sa may pinaka-magandang katangian na inaalagaang lahi ng tilapia. Ang GIFT ay may natalang pinaka-maraming ani, pinaka-mabilis na paglaki, at mataas na kakayahang mabuhay o makaligtas sa anumang pabago-bagong kalidad ng tubig sa palaisdaan.

Inilunsad sa unang Magayon Bicol Agri-Expo sa Albay Farmers’ Bounty (AFB) Village ang iba’t ibang produktong gawa sa kamote kamakailan. BRISBANE, Australia – The staff of the Pig Health-EcoHealth project visited the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia recently for a planning and review meeting.  

Implemented by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) and coordinated by the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD), the project is on its last year.

A visit to the citrus plantation in Malabing Valley provided much information in terms of best practices in citrus orchards of Nueva Vizcaya.
