Isang proyektong naglalayong puksain ang peste ng sineguelas ang sinuportahan ng Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development ng Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD). Ang nasabing proyekto na pinangungunahan ng Department of Agriculture (DA) ay may layuning makabuo ng mga estratehiya sa pagkontrol ng “sineguelas leaf beetle” o SLB (Podontia quatuordecimpunctata [L.]) na pumipinsala sa mga taniman ng sineguelas sa Batangas City.
